Advanced Life Support (ALS) transport has all the capabilities of the BLS Ambulance with the addition of paramedic or nursing staff. Advanced cardiac and life sustaining equipment and medications are available to properly maintain the continuity of care during transport. This level of service is required for ventilator patients, cardiac and some trauma cases. Patients requiring this level of transport are usually in a fragile medical condition being transferred for specialty care.
