Our History
The History Behind Med-X Medical Transportation Services
In 1984 the management team at Med-X founded and operated Multi-Care Medical Transportation, which over time became the largest private transportation provider in the Greater New Your City region. During Multi-Care’s growth, several other mid-sized transportation providers were added to the Multi-Care family, including Keefe & Keefe Ambulance (NYC), Guardian Ambulance (Elizabeth, NJ), AmCoach Ambulance (Palisades Park, NJ), Multi-Care Medical Car Services, Multi-Care International Air Ambulance and Medics Transportation Network.
In the 1990s the aircraft and ambulance assets of Multi-Care were sold to a national ambulance company and the management staff remained on board as regional management. The owners retained Multi-Care Medical Car Service and Medics as separate entities. Multi-Care Medical Car Services remains New Jersey’s largest medical car company, servicing injured workers and the PIP industry exclusively.
The Medics Transportation Network was reformed and renamed Med-X Medical Management Services in 2005. With a new focus on several products, Med-X has quickly become an innovator in the transportation industry.
